Interpretive Programs Manager, Luce Foundation Center, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C.
April 2006 – Present
Manage all operations of the Luce Foundation Center: supervise a staffed information desk, implement a weekly schedule of public programs, update interpretative information, maintain audiovisual installations, and coordinate the selection and installation of collection objects. The Luce Foundation Center for American Art is an innovative visible storage/study facility that displays around 3,300 objects from the collections of the American Art Museum.
Achievements:
- Received the Innovative Spirit Award in the First Annual Smithsonian Institution Secretary’s Awards for Excellence, October 2009.
- Managed the development and implementation of the world’s first museum-based Alternate Reality Game (ARG), “Ghosts of a Chance,” in 2008. The game was a 2009 Official Webby Honoree in the Environmental and Experience Marketing category
- Implemented citizen-curator project “Fill the Gap” on Flickr in 2009
- Luce Foundation Center kiosks and Web site won a Gold MUSE award for “Extended Experience” from the American Association of Museums in 2007
- Participated in 2009 Smithsonian 2.0 Conference
- Contributor to the Museum’s blog, Eye Level

Worked extensively on the design and installation of the Luce Foundation Center during the Museum’s renovation. Created interpretive multimedia content (including over 3,000 didactic labels) and oversaw the development of an award-winning kiosk system and companion Web site.
